Musings #4: It’s a Big One
Welcome back! Allow me to start by saying that this ‘Musings’ post is not like the others; it’s more of a whopping update since I have some explaining to do..
We’d been wedding planning since August 2016, with the wedding date set for mid July 2017 (yes, I got married! Eek!). It wasn’t until a few months before the big day when things got really chaotic! Asian weddings are never low-key – I’m pretty sure Asian weddings were designed to test your relationships AND your sanity. I’m pleased to say however, that we did manage to keep it quite scaled back despite all the varying opinions; we wanted a balance of elegance without extravagance, and I feel like we pulled it off. No helicopter entrances here, I’m afraid 🙂
That explains where I’ve been, and why I suddenly went AWOL. I’m back now, with plenty of updates and hopefully, plenty of inspiration.
If it gains enough interest, I may do a post (or even a Q&A?) on the day itself, and maybe throw in some pro images from the day.
Aside from that, I’ve now moved to Reading (although you can never take the London out of a Londoner). My recent expedition into the town centre revealed a Tiger (the store, not the feline!) and a huge WH Smith with a generous Arts & Crafts section – not bad at all, Reading. Not bad at all. We also had the privilege of visiting Istanbul for just over a week, and fell in love; I’m debating whether to do one large Istanbul post, or breaking it down into a day-by-day accounts, but I will definitely be sharing details, recommendations and images of the experience very soon.
I think that covers everything for now, but I’ll be back with more soon!
