Completed Piece: ‘Serendipity’

‘Serendipity’, an unintentionally happy turn of events.
Starting off as a traditional vine pattern, I wanted to do something different for the background and flowers flooded my thought process. I love peonies, so naturally that’s what I opted for – this is also the first time I’ve ever painted one!

The colours in this piece are quite crisp – entirely watercolour, except for the white vine itself (in gouache) – with the soft orange hues gently brushing against the waves of pthalo-blue.
