Completed Art: ‘The Cosmos’

This week, I wanted to create something spontaneous to commemorate the month of the birth of the Prophet ﷺ (known as the Mawlid). I sat one night at my desk and came up with this design after playing with rotation and the idea of symmetry. The Sandal itself is central to this piece, whilst the inclusion of the classic Turkish-style tulip is based on it reportedly symbolising the Oneness of God. As for the colour palette, I had long envisioned the celestial blue + purple combination for the Sandal symbol and decided to keep the other colours muted. This keeps the focus towards the centre and also created a perfect environment for a signature touch of gold.

I really enjoyed creating this piece from start to finish, and really hope I can do more based on this concept!
